Moege awards 2011 announced!

‘Sup guys,

I seldom do translation posts but I might as well for this particular one. For I believe that this news holds considerable significance to incite rage upon many reading it, heuheu.

The 2011 moe-game awards have been announced and here’s a brief recap of the happenings. I personally had not even been aware of this award existing, but thanks to Japanese blogger Yaraon, I found out. In any case, as its name suggests, it’s an award for ‘moe’-games and if I might say, it manages to do that part just fine.

This year’s grand prize went to Front Wing’s (フロントウイング) Grisaia no Kajitsu (グリザイアの果実 -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA-). However, there are two silver winners. They’re respectively Eushully’s Kamidori Alchemy Master (神採りアルケミーマイスター) and Clochette’s Kamikaze ☆ Explorer! (カミカゼ☆エクスプローラー!). Let’s take a peek, shall we?

01. Grisaia no Kajitsu (グリザイアの果実 -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA-):

That academy – used to be the orchard of young girls.
A lonely boy, who lost his purpose to live, came to that isolated-from-the-foreign-enemies academy.
Lose sight of things that should be protected, he spends his life in living day by day with regret and atonement. His life is cheaper than a stray dog when that heavy cangue still around his neck.
And then at that academy, the boy finds out his new hope in encountering with these girls.

── That girl, who being born was already a mistake.
Who defied the sin──
──Who died thought she’s living.
Who doesn’t have anyone to protect──
──and who being punished for surviving.

That place is the girls’ orchard.
The trees of regret bear the fruit of repentance of those girls. What on earth can I do for these girls…?
That is the eternal hope which the lonely boy dreamt…

Moege awards reasoning:

I personally never had the chance to play this one but after this has happened, I just might. While I do prefer story based titles over typical moege stuff, this actually seems like it has a story.

02. Kamidori Alchemy Master (神採りアルケミーマイスター)

Reference link: here | Vndb link: here | Getchu link: here

In the Setetori region of the southern part of the Raulbhach continent lies the Mikelti Kingdom. Among the seven major cities is the artisan city of Yuidora. This is where a young orphan named Wilfred lives, pursuing his dream of becoming an alchemist. As tensions between neighboring nations rise and a threat of war looms, three girls in distress come to his place and he helps protect them. Using a new technique that he discovered and with the help of other races, will they be able to restore peace to the lands?

Moege awards reasoning:

This is a game I actually wanted to help Ignis from the AS (Anime Sharing) team to translate. We then got busy with real life stuff and it never really went anywhere. Despite that, I’m happy to see that it managed to grab an spot here.

03. Kamikaze ☆ Explorer! (カミカゼ☆エクスプローラー!)

Reference link: here | Vndb link: here | Getchu link: here

In the near future, the living areas for humans reduce due to climate and terrain changes. As if in unison, some of the younger generation develop special powers called Metis. There are many types of Metis, from magic barriers to being able to breathe under water. Suminoe Gakuen was constructed to train and develop those students with Metis. Keiji doesn’t have any powers, but he was scouted by an agent from the school and ends up attending the school. He is then recruited into Argonaut, a club for helping people with their problems. One day, they hear about a strange rumour about the recently developed Kamigase-shi…

Moege awards reasoning:

This is a game that personally never really stood out to me, I’m a bit surprised to see here to be completely honest. Nonetheless, I’ll try giving it a go sometime in the near future if I can. The plot actually does sound a bit intriguing…

Aside from the three grand winners, there are a individual awards too for excellence in a category. Amusing thing is, some of the grand prize winners are included here too. I’ll conjure a list of them here:

  • Best Scenario: Grisaia no Kajitsu (グリザイアの果実 -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA-)
  • Best BGM: Kamidori Alchemy Master (神採りアルケミーマイスター)
  • Best user support: Grisaia no Kajitsu (グリザイアの果実 -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA-)

…and so on. For the full list, please visit

Apologies for not including vndb and getchu links for the last list, but it’s time consuming enough as it is. Surprising thing is, I’ve played through a lot of them despite being rather busy lately.

Da Capo(Visual Novel)

Da Capo

Circus never lets me down    (☝゚∀゚)☝

Well it’s been some time since I grabbed the translated version of their Da Capo visual novel. This will be a quick recap of my experience with it =3

Well, the version I got was from Mangagamer(Official English translation).

The game was released in Japan on 2002. Well, pretty much everyone knows by now that the anime was made after the game(that’s the case with most eroges). It took 7 years to get a translated version of DC I , lets see how long it takes for a translated DC:II. (Apparently, An year and 12 days (Yes, I kept count)) (more…)
